Privacy Policy

What data this site touches, who else is involved, and how to opt out.

This privacy policy explains what information SoccerAnalytics.net ("the site", "we", "us") collects when you visit, why, and what choices you have. It applies to https://socceranalytics.net and its subpages.

The short version

SoccerAnalytics.net is a content website. We don't ask you to create an account, and we don't knowingly collect personal information beyond what's needed to serve pages, understand aggregate traffic, and (once enabled) show advertising. The main third parties that may set cookies are our advertising and analytics providers, described below.

Information we collect

  • Information you give us. If you email us or submit the contact form, we receive your name, email address and message. We use these only to reply and to keep a record of correspondence.
  • Automatically collected technical data. Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider records standard server log data (IP address, browser type, referring page, date and time) for security and reliability. This is ordinary server housekeeping.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. The site itself uses a single browser localStorage value to remember your light/dark theme preference. That value never leaves your device. Additional cookies may be set by the third-party services below.

Advertising & Google AdSense

We intend to fund the site through display advertising via Google AdSense. When advertising is active:

  • Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third party's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info (US) or Your Online Choices (EU).
  • Where required by law, ads will be served via a consent mechanism (Google's certified Consent Management Platform), and in regions covered by GDPR you will be asked for consent before personalised ad cookies are set. If you decline, you may still see non-personalised ads.

For more detail on how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate, non-identifying traffic patterns — for example, which articles are read and roughly where visitors come from. GA4 does not log or store individual IP addresses, and we have not enabled Google Signals or advertising features within it, so it is not used to build advertising profiles of individuals. GA4 may set first-party cookies (for example _ga) to distinguish repeat visitors. We do not sell analytics data.

You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser. For more on how Google handles this data, see Google's privacy policy.

Third parties we rely on

  • Static hosting / CDN (e.g. Cloudflare Pages or Netlify) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
  • Google AdSense for advertising (once enabled), as described above.
  • Google Analytics 4 for aggregate traffic measurement, as described above.
  • Google Fonts to load the typefaces used on the site; your browser requests font files from Google's servers, which may log the request.
  • Any form provider you submit the contact form through (for example Formspree), which processes your message on our behalf.

Each third party operates under its own privacy policy. We are not responsible for their practices, but we choose providers that publish clear policies.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data. Under the EU/UK GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold, and you can object to certain processing. Under the California CCPA/CPRA you can request disclosure or deletion of personal information and opt out of its "sale" or "sharing" (we do not sell personal information). To exercise any of these rights, email contact@socceranalytics.net and we'll respond within a reasonable period.

Children

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves — for instance, when advertising or analytics is switched on. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date below. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
